‘The Honest Ulsterman Revisited’ Lecture Available to View Online

The Ireland Chair of Poetry and the Seamus Heaney Centre are delighted to present ‘The Honest Ulsterman Revisited’, a lecture by Professor Frank Ormsby.

Originally scheduled for March 2020, but cancelled due to the COVID19 pandemic, Professor Ormby’s first lecture as Ireland Chair of Poetry took place this year, in front of a small, socially distanced audience, in the Great Hall at Queen’s University Belfast. The filmed lecture can be enjoyed via the QFT Player here.

Professor Ormsby is introduced in the filmed lecture by Professor Glenn Patterson, Director of the Seamus Heaney Centre at Queen’s, and by Professor Fran Brearton, Professor of Poetry at Queen’s and Trustee of the Ireland Chair of Poetry. We also hear from the Rt Hon Sir Donnell Deeny, founding Trustee of the Ireland Chair of Poetry.
